Stock market regained strength after ups and downs

On the second trading day of the week, the benchmark indices closed with gains after good buying. On Tuesday, the market got support from heavy buying in the IT sector. Along with this, good buying was also seen in shares of auto, metal and pharma sectors. At the same time, selling was seen in shares of banking and FMCG sectors. Earlier on Monday, Sensex fell by 354.21 (0.49%) points at 71,731.42 while Nifty fell by 82.10 (0.38%) points and closed at 21,771.70.
