Harda Blast case-
Due to the explosion in Harda factory where the accident took place, the ground also shook, the debris of wall and roof rained rapidly up to 400 meters, which became the reason for the death of people. 15 kg of firecrackers were fired in the factory.
The godown for explosive material should have an area of 25 square meters and it should be on the ground. But, the basement in Harda’s factory was being used to store gunpowder stock, against the rules. According to Rule 126 of Explosives Rules 2008, godown of explosive material can be built only on land. It cannot be kept on the ground floor or upper floor. The godown should be made in the open area as per the prescribed distance. There should be empty space all around, so that in case of fire, firefighters can go from all sides. But, the rules were not followed in Harda’s factory.
The Chief Minister said that information has been collected regarding the operation of firecracker factories in the entire state and in this regard, instructions have been given to the District Collector that wherever rules are violated, strict action should be taken.
